The Company History

Palomino began in 1968. It was founded by Vern Landey who saw problems with the trailers he distributed through his job, so he set out to create his own improved tent trailers. His focus was building models that were lightweight, more affordable for the average family, and offered a better floor layout. The first company headquarters were in Savage, Minnesota. But the demand for their RVs was so great that they moved to Colon, Michigan in 1972 to a larger facility. Their offices were sadly destroyed by a fire in 1992, but this didn't stop the company from growing. They opened a new facility in 1998 to keep up with growing demand.

In 2002, Palomino's parent company Vanguard was acquired by Forest River. This meant Palomino was incorporated into one of the biggest RV producers in the country. They still operated independently of the new parent company and also continued to see increasing sales. Today, they are connected to over 300 dealerships and are one of the top five RV producers in America.
